**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**IMPLEMENT RISK MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS**
- Assist the Team Leader: Risk and Performance with the implementation of risk management practices across the entity, including insurance related matters.
- Assist with the development and/ or review of risk management policies and strategies.
- Assist with and/ or facilitate the risk management process.
- Facilitate and review risk assessments conducted, including ratings, risk response strategies and its implementation.
- Support directorates, functions and staff with risk management advice and support.
- Compile risk assessment/ management reports.
- Facilitate risk management training for the entity.
- Assist in the placement of insurance cover and policies for the entity.
- Assist in the claims management process.
- Provide administrative and technical support as it relates to insurance for the entity.

**FACILITATE FRAUD PREVENTION AND AWARENESS**
- Assist in the development and/ or review of fraud prevention policies and strategies.
- Facilitate and review fraud risk assessment conducted, including risk response strategies and its implementation, and update assessment results.
- Assist in the development of material/ interventions to facilitate fraud prevention awareness and communication.
- Assist in the development and/ or procurement of a fraud awareness module/ training for roll-out throughout the entity.
- Undertake and/ or assist in the investigation of fraud and/ or other incidents.

**FACILITATE BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING**
- Review existing business continuity plans and identify gaps based on best practice and/ or updated business processes.
- Facilitate the testing of the Business Continuity Plans through the co-ordination with relevant staff/ units/ reserves/ landscapes.
- Compile a report on the outcomes and recommend remedial actions to address gaps.
- Facilitate training for staff across the entity.
- Facilitate awareness and communication across the entity.

**IMPROVE GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE**
- Assist in the development and review of the entity’s Annual Report and Annual Performance Plan and any other corporate documents in the scope of this position.
- Provide support with the implementation of all CapeNature Board governance requirements.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- An appropriate tertiary qualification - NQF level 7 (B-Degree or higher in Public Management or Administration/ Business Science/ Auditing).
- Minimum of 4 years experience.
- Knowledge of the following:

- Risk identification, assessment and monitoring
- Risk management processes, methodologies and techniques
- Risk management concepts and frameworks
- National Treasury Public Sector Risk Management Framework
- National and Provincial policies and procedures and legislation pertaining to risk management
- Applicable legislative, regulatory frameworks and standards (ISO, COSO)
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions/ Directives
- Fraud prevention and anti-corruption frameworks and practices
- Corporate Governance frameworks and practices
- Business Continuity Management
- Computer literacy in MS 365.
- Excellent interpersonal, report writing and communication skills.
- Bilingualism in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
- A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Ability to engage at both an operational and at Management level.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
