Temporary Assistant Payroll Clerk

Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation using VIP Payroll and Payspace.
- Verify timecards, attendance records, and deductions in both systems.
- Monitor and reconcile discrepancies between the two systems.
- Data Integration:
- Develop and maintain a streamlined process for data integration between VIP Payroll and Payspace.
- Ensure that employee information, hours worked, and wage adjustments seamlessly flow between systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues promptly.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure that the integration process complies with all relevant federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll tax reports, incorporating data from both systems.
- Maintain and organise payroll-related documentation and records in an integrated manner.
- Queries and Support:
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers, offering assistance in navigating both VIP Payroll and Payspace systems.
- Provide support in resolving payroll discrepancies and integration-related issues.
- Reporting:
- Generate payroll reports for management and HR based on integrated data from VIP Payroll and Payspace.
- Compile data for audits and provide necessary documentation reflecting the integrated payroll processes.
- System Enhancements:
- Collaborate with IT or software vendors to propose and implement enhancements to streamline the integration between VIP Payroll and Payspace.
- Stay updated on software updates and improvements to optimise the integration.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus).
- Previous 3 - 5 years experience in payroll or related administrative roles, with expertise in VIP Payroll and Payspace.
- Proficiency with both VIP Payroll and Payspace software, including data integration and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
**This is a temporary position with a specific end date, focusing on the integration of VIP Payroll and Payspace systems to enhance payroll processes. The exact duration of the temporary assignment will be communicated during the hiring process.
