**WE ARE HIRING**

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. The Metal Fabricator is a key member of the metal fabrication workshop, responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to produce high-quality products according to specifications and industry standards Many of our projects run through nights and weekends, so a flexible schedule is required.

**REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Valid driver’s license & own reliable transportation.
- Computer literate.
- Own cell phone.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Excellent welding skills with the ability to produce high-quality welds in various positions.
- Proven experience as a metal fabricator, preferably in a workshop environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and machinery such as saws, shears, presses, and grinders.
- Attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship in fabricating metal components.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Interpretation of Technical Drawings**:

- Review and interpret detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for metal fabrication projects.
- Understand geometric dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols to accurately fabricate components.

**2. Material Preparation and Cutting**:

- Select appropriate metal materials (steel, aluminium, stainless steel, etc.) based on project requirements.
- Use cutting equipment such as saws, shears, and plasma cutters to cut metal sheets, pipes, and profiles to specified dimensions.
- Ensure precise measurements and clean cuts to minimize material wastage.

**3. Metal Forming and Shaping**:

- Utilize bending machines, presses, rollers, and other forming equipment to shape metal components according to design requirements.
- Perform operations such as bending, folding, rolling, and punching to create complex shapes and profiles.

**4. Welding and Joining**:

- Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of parts before welding to maintain structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
- Weld metal components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) using appropriate welding parameters.

**5. Assembly and Fabrication**:

- Assemble fabricated metal components using fastening methods such as welding, bolting, riveting, or adhesive bonding.
- Verify assembly accuracy and adjust as necessary to achieve proper fit and function.
- Fabricate sub-assemblies and complete assemblies according to assembly drawings and instructions.

**6. Finishing and Surface Treatment**:

- Grind, sand, and buff welded joints and metal surfaces to achieve smooth finishes and remove weld spatter or imperfections.

**7. Quality Assurance**:

- Perform quality inspections of fabricated components to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances, welding standards, and customer specifications.
- Identify and address any defects or non-conformities in workmanship or materials.
- Document quality control data and maintain traceability records for fabricated products.

**8. Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workshop.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe operation of equipment and machinery.
- Follow welding codes, standards, and regulations applicable to the fabrication industry.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Proven experience as a metal fabricator, preferably in a workshop environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Certified in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Excellent welding skills with the ability to produce high-quality welds in various positions.

Pay: R10 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month
