Duties

Installing a cover on a piece of furniture

Make and repair upholstery for automobiles.

**Responsibilities**:
Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery stencils.

Selecting upholstery materials

Dismantling seats for upholstery preparations

Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils

Installing foam and batting to the seat framework.

Stretching out and installing the fabric or leather coverings

Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric or leather coverings

Smoothing out imperfections

Conducting quality checks on completed orders

**Requirements**:
Proven work experience as an upholsterer

Excellent design skills

Detail-oriented

Ability to draw and interpret design templates

Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment

Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects

Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day

Salary range is negotiable depending on knowledge and experience.

Pay: R10 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
