Technical Sales Advisor

As a Technical Sales Advisor in the animal feed production business, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to customers while promoting and selling our client's animal feed products. Your role involves understanding customer needs, offering solutions, and building strong relationships to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customer Engagement:
- Identify and engage with potential clients, including farmers, livestock producers, and distributors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers.
- Understand customers' unique requirements and provide tailored solutions.
2. Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in animal nutrition.
3. Technical Support:
- Offer technical advice on animal nutrition, feed formulations, and production processes.
- Assist customers in optimizing their feed programs for maximum animal health and productivity.
4. Sales and Marketing:
- Promote and sell the company's animal feed products to achieve sales targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, plans, and promotional activities.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients.
- Compile a marketing activity grid for the next 12 months for planning and budgeting purposes.
5. Market Research:
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and competitors in the animal feed industry.
- Monitor customer feedback and industry developments to adapt sales approaches accordingly.
- Identify opportunities to expand the existing product range or adding a new product supported with data.
6. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the product development and research teams to gather insights for product improvement.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to customer support and satisfaction.
- Liaise with all other departments regularly to ensure the high customer service levels are maintained.
7. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and product information.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in animal science, Agriculture, or a related field (a Master's degree may be preferred).
- Proven experience in technical sales or consulting within the animal feed production industry of at least 5 years.
- Strong knowledge of animal nutrition, feed ingredients, and feed formulation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sales and negotiation abilities.
- A customer-focused and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED TO VISIT CLIENTS, ATTEND TRADE SHOWS, AND INDUSTRY EVENTS.
- THIS ROLE MAY INVOLVE WORKING IRREGULAR HOURS TO ACCOMMODATE CUSTOMER NEEDS.
- THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE MAY INCLUDE A COMBINATION OF SALARY, COMMISSIONS, AND BONUSES BASED
