The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of **Senior Programme Officer - Coordination and Outreach, A2DSRH.**

Under the supervision of Senior Advisor to CEO, the Senior Programme Officer will play a pivotal role in strategic policy coordination, outreach, and multilateral engagement to advance the Africa Demographic Dividend and Sexual and Reproductive Health (A2DSRH) Programme within the Office of the CEO. The officer will also be instrumental in ensuring that SRH policies and programs are not only responsive to ongoing health needs but also address SRH needs in crises and humanitarian contexts.

**Required Skills and Competencies**
- Experience and knowledge in policy development, outreach, and multilateral coordination, with strong skills in diplomacy and strategic engagement.
- Extensive experience working with multilateral organizations at the national, regional and international level.
- Experience in providing policy and strategic advice, especially within multilateral and regional settings.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing policy briefs, reports, MoUs, partnership agreements, and other multilateral documentation, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and adherence to international standards.
- Experience on promoting synergies between humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding actions, particularly in advancing the needs of young women and girls and addressing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in conflict and post-conflict contexts from an outreach perspective.
- Experience in working with development partners in the SRH space.
- Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with target audiences and cultivate productive relationships.
- Excellent writing, facilitation, and presentation skills to provide effective leadership to the, articulate and promote AUDA-NEPAD and African sectoral positions, and compose and defend requests for support or particular actions.
- Experience in prudently managing organizational resources and deployment in pursuit of innovative approaches and initiatives.
- Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP ERP).
- High level of excellence, accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Excellent strategic visioning, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, and reporting skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment, and energy.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
- Innovation, creative thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Good organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work with a team and individually.
- Proficiency in one of the AU working languages, and fluency in another AU language an added advantage.
- Ability to understand complex issues and to analyse information and data.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and to handle difficult situations effectively.
- High level of diplomacy and the ability to display discretion and respect for confidentiality.

**Education and Experience**:
Or

A Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Political Sciences, Public Policy, Legal Studies, International Relations or any other related field plus a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant post qualification experience policy, legal advisory, or programme management within public sector institutions, international organisations or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

**Remuneration**:
Indicative basic salary of US$42,018.78 per annum plus other entitlements e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,832.68 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
