Senior Programme Manager: Unit for Global Education

Duties/Pligte **Managing the Unit for Global Education**:
- Ensuring alignment with the Unit with the UPI and other portfolios within CGE;
- Ensuring operational efficiency and a high level of service delivery;
- Encouraging continuous engagement with departments and PASS environments throughout the University;
- Handling staff matters (work agreements, performance assessment, leave administration, etc.).
**Planning and executing global learning programmes and initiatives**:
- Developing and embedding the Global Student Learning Outcomes (GSLO¿s) in UGE programmes and initiatives;
- Responsible for the Global Education Programme (GEP);
- Developing/sourcing GEP courses;
- Academic coordination with the lecturers and academic departments;
- Lecturing where required, e.g., in the Global Service-Learning offerings.
**Overseeing the Student Life and Success portfolio**:
- Providing guidance regarding international student integration activities (e.g. Welcoming and Orientation Programme, ISOS, Volunteer Community Engagement);
- Providing guidance regarding the short courses offered in the portfolio (e.g. the Global Citizenship Short Course).
**Supervising the implementation of non-degree international student mobility programmes in the workstreams for semester and short-term mobility regarding**:
- Implementing student mobility provisions in bilateral agreements;
- Liaising with Study Abroad providers;
- Aligning mobility administration with SU academic administrative processes;
- Framing mobility programmes within the GSLO's;
- As a member of the Working group on Agreement Development (WGAD), providing support and advice in terms of implementing the student mobility component of exchange and mobility agreements.
**Assisting the Manager**:
- CGE to advance internationalisation of the curriculum initiatives and to expand the offering of academic programmes with a compulsory international component.

- Verseker bedryfsdoeltreffendheid en 'n hoë vlak van diensverskaffing;

- Hanteer personeelaangeleenthede (werksooreenkomste, prestasie-evaluering, verlof-administrasie en dies meer).
**Beplan en uitvoer van globale leerprogramme en inisiatiewe**:
- Ontwikkel die Globale Studente-leeruitkomstes (GSLO's) en sluit dit in al die UGE programme en inisiatiewe in;
- Verantwoordelik vir die Globale Onderwys-programme (GEP);
- Ontwikkel en verkry GEP kursusse;
- Akademiese koördinering met die dosente en akademiese departemente;
- Doseer waar nodig, bv. in die Globale Diensleer aanbiedings.
**Hou toesig oor die Studentelewe en -sukses portefeulje**:
- Bied leiding rondom die aktiwiteite vir die integrasie van internasionale studente (bv. verwelkomings
- en oriënteringprogram, ISOS, Vrywillige(r) Gemeenskapsinteraksie);
- Bied leiding rakende die kortkursusse wat as deel van die portefeulje aangebied word (bv. die Globale Burgerskap kortkursus).
**Kontroleer die implementering van die mobiliteitsprogramme vir internasionale studente vir nie-graaddoeleindes in die werkstrome vir semestermobiliteit asook korttermynmobiliteit**:
- Gee uitvoering aan die bepalings vir studentemobiliteit soos uiteengesit in die bilaterale ooreenkomste;
- Skakel met Internasionale studie-verskaffers;
- Belyn mobiliteitsadministrasie met die akademiese administrasieprosesse by die US;
- Plaas mobiliteitsprogramme binne die raamwerk van die GSLO's;
- Bied as lid van die Werksgroep vir Ooreenkomsontwikkeling (WGAD) ondersteuning aan en leiding vir die implementering van die studente-mobiliteitskomponent van uitruil
- en mobiliteitsooreenkomste;
**Hulpverlening aan die Bestuurder**:
- CGE om die internasionalisering van kurrikulum-inisiatiewe te bevorder en om die aanbiedings van akademiese programme met 'n verpligte internasionale komponent uit te brei.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Master's Degree;
- At least five years' experience in the field of International Education, especially regarding teaching and academic programming for international non-degree students in South Africa;
- Curriculum coordination and development;
- Teaching experience;
- Strong, systematic organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team and under pressure;
- Relevant experience in team management;
- The ability to take initiative, exercise judgement, solve problems and work accurately and in a timely manner with mínimal supervision;
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage large quantities of information and have excellent time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal and good verbal and written communication skills;
- Proven computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet);
- A high interest in global affairs and higher education beyond South Africa.
