**Position with Non-Profit in Cape Town**

**Main job function**

The organisation seeks to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to effectively manage the operations of the organisation to ensure that the agreed key drivers / business plan is met.

The COO will lead all non-financial operational elements, manage staff and identify opportunities for resource optimisation. This is a vital leadership role that deliver key driver results and increase the overall efficiency and impact of the organisation.

Qualifications:
Post graduate qualification in business administration, commerce or similar (MBA advantageous)

**Experience**:
Minimum 10 years executive management level experience with exposure to marketing, operations & support services

Proven track record in driving operations to achieve strategic objectives

Strong leadership abilities to lead business operations strategically

Proven project management skills and experience

Exceptional executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills

Budgeting and/or financial focused mindset

Problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively, look ahead, be proactive and willing to take risks to achieve goals

Ability to work under pressure, with a strong work ethic

Ability to demand high levels of quality in work

Ability to make decisions after careful and logical analysis of the situation and willing to face difficult situations

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with peers, and able to be assertive and direct when dealing with conflict and confrontation

Must be a ‘hands-on’ type of person who will be adaptable and function agnostic

Able to gather and manage large volumes of data and ability to see patterns to support the team

Effective written and oral communication, both one-on-one and group presentations

High ethical standards

Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children

Enthusiasm for creating an organisational culture of learning

Ability to motivate and inspire others through commitment to Breadline Africa’s vision, learning, and social impact.
