- As the Section Manager, you would hold a legal accountability with a 2.14.1, 2.14.2 and 2.14.3 or a 2.6.1 appointment in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations and the required to assist the manager in the control, management and direction of the underground workings of the mine, as stipulated by the regulations.

**Job Description
- Your responsibilities will include**:
**The main responsibility of the role is to ensure that the operational process in a defined area of the mine operates effectively.**

Safety
- Controlling of the working environment and promotion of ‘Zero Tolerance’ principles.
- Proper allocation, development and utilization of human resources.
- Utilisation of new technology, financial, logístical and material assets.
- Management of the process of ore body exposure and stripping and the administration of these functions.

Compliance
- Carry out regular site inspection, identifying and highlight poor housekeeping.
- Identifying and responding to sub-standard work specification and practices.
- Providing guidance and details on required specifications and work practice to team.
- Discipline and /or provide formal training where required.

Compliance to legal requirements
- Carry out regular site inspection, inspecting and sign off legal records of site inspection, reports and written instructions.
- Checking compliance to necessary administration of certificates and permissions required for specialized tasks.
- Report as required to Senior Management.

Planning and scheduling development and stoping process
- Attending, contributes to and is informed by production meetings for the area.
- Consults with and receives from Production Manager, forecasted needs for areas of responsibility.
- Quantifies development targets and plans the process for the achievement thereof with the development team.
- Quantifies stoping targets and plans the process for the achievement thereof with the stoping team.
- Assess and quantifies equipping needs for the mining of exposed reef with stoping and logistics.
- Co-ordinates interaction between logistics and mining.

This role is in the Mining Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Production Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Mining degree/diploma
- Mine Manager Certificate of competency
- Blasting Certificate
- Business qualification will be advantageous.

**To be successful, you will have the following experience**:

- At least 5 years mining experience at metalliferous mines.
- 3 Years experience as a Mine Overseer

- Valid Code 08 drivers licence
