- We are looking for an enthusiatic Section Geologist who will identifying potential and problematic ore reserves. Implement necessary diamond drill and sampling programmes and systems to process information on plans, sections, reports and enable efficient and timeous mineral resource management as well and most importantly service to the Mining departments

**Platinum**

Our Platinum business mines, processes and refines the entire range of platinum group metals (PGMs): platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium.

**Job Description**:

- As our Section Geologist you will be responsible for providing a specialist Geological service to the mine with regards to a value driven exploitation of ore reserves and allowing responsible resource management by:

- Performing Underground Geological Mapping for Development and Stopes
- Ensuring quality assurance on data and supervising underground geology drilling programme
- Adhering to geological standards (SAMREC, Group Governance, site specific standards)
- Compilation and Input into geological loss determination and structural models
- Completing and maintaining geology plans, sections geology systems and reporting practices
- Implementing effective controls and procedures relating to grade control (stope widths reporting and underground sampling)
- Managing optimum exposure of PGE mineralization in development and stope faces grades/grade control (stope widths reporting and underground sampling)

**This role is in the Geosciences Department on a band 7 level and reporting to the Shaft Geologist**

**Qualifications
- You will be required to have the following**:

- BSc. or BTech in Geology (Honors will be an added advantage)
- 2 years post qualification experience in mining geology
- 2 years post qualification experience in Bushveld Igneous Complex and platinum geology will be advantageous
- Basic understanding of exploration
- Computer literate: MS Office and discipline specific software (Datamine, Microstation Acquire, MineRPCad and Sable)
- Additional Information
- Driver’s license code 08
- Certificate of Medical Fitness (Red Ticket)
