We have a tremendous job opportunity for a junior Point of Sale Specialist to join the bright, young team at a global FMCG pop culture brand’s Cape Town HQ.
This fantastic role drives the Brand’s visibility in store. As POS Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning, ordering, placement, maintenance, and warehousing of all Off Premise Point of Sale (POS) material for South Africa. The Point-of-Sale Specialist is also responsible for supporting the POS Manager with the development and coordination of the trade marketing strategy in line with both the sales and brand plans. You will also be responsible for reporting post campaign sales and track the Return on Investment of all initiatives & campaigns, as such you’ll need to be comfortable with Excel and simple calculations.
The role includes Project Management within the Logistics area as the POS Specialist ensures that the materials that come from Head Office abroad, get to the destinations in time.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting & Analyses
- Value adding analysis reports which proactively resolve point of sale issues as well as identify business opportunities
- Post campaign reporting, calculating ROI based on the investment made per campaign and store uplift
- Identifying outlets where the Brand isn’t available by analysing sales data and developing strategies to be visible in these outlets
- Track and evaluate Perfect Store Auditing Data (PSA) and deliver reports to Sales Team to allow for corrective actions to take place
- Time in field with sales team to understand trade and customer dynamics and note competitor activity
- Identifying key distribution partners and develop strategies to ensure better distribution to the surrounding outlets
- Analysing cooler data (door opening reports, and the correlation on sales) to create actionable insights for the sales teams.

Trade Marketing Knowledge & POS Tools Development
- Recommend and support trade activity proposals with commercial backing whilst protecting the Brand image
- Create and develop all channels of communication that contribute to the timely execution of Brand initiatives at internal, trade or shopper level
- Support and ensure that the global POS toolkit is used effectively in order to adhere to brand guidelines and ensure national POS is developed only when international material is not appropriate.

POS Tools Implementation & Development
- Supporting and ensuring that global POS toolkit is used effectively in order to: adhere to brand guidelines and appropriately represents the brand (e.g., creative, and innovative); meet country needs and objectives by being financially viable; ensure national POS is developed only when international material is not appropriate, and a clear commercial benefit is recognised.

Alignment & Coordination Of Sales & Marketing Activities
- Developing and maintaining an internal tracking system for incoming POS with all departments necessary for efficient tracking and phasing to assist with the most accurate planning possible
- Tracking ROI, and implementing changes where needed to ensure the Brand grows ahead of its category
- Implementing 100% of POS produced and ensuring warehousing and implementation costs stays at a minimum.

Supporting With The Development Of New & Innovative Trade Marketing Solutions
- Use strong understanding of sales, category trends and insights to explore and develop new and exciting trade marketing ideas and solutions
- Support with providing briefing documents to external agencies and suppliers for the development of new POS, and merchandising tools.

**Requirements**:

- University - Bachelor’s Degree
- Approximately up to 4 years’ experience in the FMCG industry and the Off-Premise trade specifically would be preferable
- Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Power BI will be an advantage)
- Highly skilled reporting and excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Operations & Logistics experience would be an advantage
- Good understanding of the Brand and related Marketing strategies
- High numerical ability; discerns trends, patterns, and anomalies in data with probable cause and effect
- Strong communication skills
- Must have the ability to retrieve, understand and interpret data from numerous sources
- Project Management & experience in briefing and managing external agency partners
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build strong cross-functional working relationships at all levels.
