**Main Purpose of Role**

Total management and co-ordination of all legal practise management for the business unit, with end to end oversight and control over the area of responsibility. Manage, update and review of system updates, report and oversee and the coordination of work throughout the business unit. Litigation and trial management and oversight. High pressured delivery of specific outcomes in order to decrease time to cash. Cost effective management of all matters being attended to. General networking capability and good rapport with external stakeholders, including sheriffs, correspondents, advocates, master’s and companies office and courts within the Gauteng regional area.

**Required Minimum Education / Training**
- LLB
- B.Com and Post Graduate qualifications advantageous.
- Evidenced people and practise management experience critical
- Admission as conveyancer, notary public along with proven track record of experience in insolvency, and business rescue practise management will receive preference
- Evidenced experience within the fields of insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate/commercial litigation finance will receive preference.

**Required Minimum Work Experience**
- 8 - 15 years working experience; 8-10 years’ must be experience obtained in bank commercial recoveries environment
- Conveyancing and Notary Public experience will be advantageous
- Established network of specialists based in Gauteng Regional and Provincial Divisions, the deeds office and a network of accessible insolvency practitioners considered critical

**Technical Competencies Required**

Knowledge and understanding of the following legislation and legal fields of expertise:

- Companies Act Chapter 6 as it pertains to Business Rescue
- National Credit Act
- Debt Collectors Act
- Magistrate’s and High Court Act, Rules and High Court Practice Directives and Caselines
- Consumer Protection Act
- Insolvency Act
- Prevention of Illegal Evictions Act
- Conveyancing practise management and oversight
- Property law
- Understanding of Practice management:

- People and file management and oversight
- Strong administrative and leadership capabilities
- Strong networking acumen
- Cost and legal process management.

**Key Performance Area**

**Manage Cash Collections / Legal Process**
- Daily analysis and job allocation plus prioritisation of account management in the commercial debt collection space;
- Overseeing, and coordinating of legal documentation preparation and trial preparation;
- Meeting of creditors, preparation of liquidation and distribution accounts, insolvency trust oversight and engagement and quantification of merit with sound commercial consideration applied;
- Property and commercial execution management and attendance to the recovery of asset backed loans.

**Mandate / File Management**
- Monitor and manage file movement between team members through the different areas of responsibility.
- Overall management of and prioritisation of large corporate and commercial recovery mandates based on sound commercial and cost effective principles.
- Appropriate reporting on matters under management in accordance with agreed service level standards.
- Quality assurance of all actions taken by staff.
- Coordinate and distribute legal documents to the appropriate areas within the portfolio.

**Relationship Management**
- Implement systems to manage team dynamics and productivity
- Provide support and guidance to team
- Create and implement networks specialisation throughout the value chain and implement strategies to be followed in the legal recovery process that aligns to best practise standards
- Give input on operational issues
