**Agile Specialist**

**Purpose of the Position**:
The Agile Release Specialist manages and optimizes delivery schedules and releases of the Software & Data Engineering (SDE) team's products and services to production. This role requires a strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) and Agile methodologies. The Agile Release Specialist is a results-oriented facilitator and coordinator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Key Deliverables**
- Work with Team Leaders and key stakeholders to drive ongoing clarity of wider programme and project goals, ensuring that the product team and wider SDE are aligned in their goals and priorities.
- Manage software release processes, including planning, coordination, and tracking of releases, ensuring that they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Drive visibility and transparency of dates, milestones, and dependencies to enable effective planning and decision-making.
- Ensure that teams work effectively together in Agile, promoting collaboration and transparency, and resolving bottlenecks that may hinder team progress.
- Adapt plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout software development sprints and releases to respond to emerging requirements and risks, ensuring that projects stay on track.
- Foster constructive and proactive communication across TD (Technology Department) teams to ensure that goals, priorities, key decisions, and status are clear to all stakeholders.
- Drive, track, and communicate the progress of sprints and releases through team velocity, successful builds and deployments, and other metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Recognize the need for change, recommend improvements, and assist with implementing best practices to optimize Agile processes and ensure continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including SDE Managers and teams, Technology Project Managers, SDE Customers & stakeholders, and MCG group (CII, EBS, DMS, TD,CV, etc), displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence, and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, manage expectations, and ensure stakeholders' requirements are delivered, maintaining open and proactive communication channels.
- Preserve relationships despite airing conflicting views and seek mutual gains when addressing conflicts, demonstrating tact and diplomacy in challenging situations.
- Anticipate consequences and adapt problem-solving based on continual feedback, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in resolving issues and conflicts.
- Act speedily to resolve problems, queries, and complaints, demonstrating a customer-centric approach and a sense of urgency in addressing stakeholder concerns.
- Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences, using appropriate language and tone in various communication channels to effectively convey information and ensure understanding.
- Identify successes, failures, and learnings post every release and compile a report, providing insights and recommendations.
- Escalate findings and, in conjunction with SDE management, put contingency plans in place for continuous improvement in the area, proactively addressing any issues or challenges identified.
- Provide input at meetings to assist in prioritization to help the business make informed decisions.
- Assist with understanding the breakdown of releases for complete change.
- Perform Azure DevOps administration tasks, managing work items, and generating reports to track progress.
- Assist with roadmap planning and management, providing input and insights from wider group project meetings.

**Technical Competencies**
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle process - including but not limited to Agile development methodologies.
- Project planning & documentation
- Knowledge of Software build management including DevOps pipelines for different environments (Dev,Prod, Staging)

**Experience**
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in software testing with increasing levels of responsibility
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Software Development Life Cycle environment
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Pay TV or Data Engineering projects
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Project or Product Management
- Experience working with Azure DevOps
- Experience within the broadcast environment would be preferred.
- Exposure to PMBOK or Agile methodologies
- Experience in managing a technical team
- **Qualifications**
- B.Sc. (Computer Science and Computer Engineering) or similar qualifications
- Relevant Post Grad would be advantageous.
- Agile practitioner or SAFE or PMP certification preferable
