Join the CIB Payments team as a Domestic Payments Specialist for the Rapid Payments Programme. The department supports all areas settling ZAR transactions. The department is continually looking for ways to implement efficiencies, reduce risk to the company and enhance the experience of our clients. Settlements is a cross-asset class function responsible for ensuring that all transactions are controlled and settled in an effective, timely and cost-effective manner.

**Job Description**:
Key Accountabilities
- Interface with internal and external clients regarding instructions and transactions by being a point of contact in the payments function.
- Daily monitoring of the RPP to determine if there are underlying system and or process issues and instability which includes identification of failed payments, settlements, failed proxy transactions and requests as well as suspicious transactions.
- Prepare RPP MI and distribute to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all RPP batch exceptions are promptly followed up and resolved within agreed Service level agreement (SLA).
- Facilitate resolution of aged breaks.
- Monitor and confirm the processing of the monthly billing by BankServ in collaboration with FSSA and Payments teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely resolution of Batch settlement related to RPP.
- Provide input to process engineers, process custodians and process owners when required on the design and implementation of new process in the payment’s environment.
- Contribute to the direction and strategy for Payments Operations.
- Drive and implement agreed projects, working with the relevant change teams, to optimize processes and improve client service delivery.
- Encourage and support implementation of ad-hoc improvements within direct teams and processes to improve productivity, quality and client service.

Education and Experience Required
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Diploma/ in Banking
- 5 Years general Banking experience

Education

Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
