Are you an experienced underwriter looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Look no further Cornerstone Financial Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Domestic Underwriter. As a key member of our Insurance Broker division, you'll have the opportunity to work directly under our operational director and make a significant impact on our clients and our business.

**Job Profile**: In this role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, including client claims management, ensuring division compliance, and underwriting. Additionally, you'll handle specific division administrative duties, such as monthly account reconciliation and providing support to our Operational Director. Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service to our clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and the FAIS Code of Conduct to minimize PI exposure. Conduct compliance monitoring meetings and maintain the Skills and Representative Registers.
- Underwriting: Conduct monthly renewals, analyze client coverage requirements, negotiate terms, and present comparisons to clients. Stay updated on new products and enhancements.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor loss ratios, maintain adherence to underwriting and portfolio management principles, and evaluate underwriting rules for potential improvements.
- Administration: Handle premium debit order queries, conduct monthly reconciliations, and ensure timely payments of commissions and fees.
- Client Relationships: Manage client relationships from onboarding to the end of their journey, effectively communicate updates, and find solutions for their queries and concerns.
- Leadership: Manage and support your team, identify areas of development, provide feedback, and ensure the team's deliverables are met.

**Qualifications and Skills**: To be considered for this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Domestic Underwriter.
- Matriculation Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Tertiary education in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, such as the FAIS Act and Code of Conduct.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
