**Synopsis**
Our client is looking for **Cross Boarder Payments Processing Officer. **This role will expose you to a diverse working environment with endless opportunities to grow as an individual and to work for an organization that promotes equality. **This is a 6-month contract** **(This role is available immediately)**
**Qualification and Experience**
- National Certificate (Matric)
- Diploma in Banking
- White belt (Six Sigma training)
- Knowledge/understanding of Foreign Exchange and Payments used within the Bank. Experience within Payments with a good understanding of (Swift)Society for Worldwide International Financial Telecommunications
- Good understanding of the various system used within the Bank: Branch delivery system (BDS), Domestic Treasury system (DTS)Retail Forex (RFS)3270, Rand Payment system (ZAPS) and Credit System
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Money Laundering and FICA
- Knowledge of exchange rates, conversions, balance of payments reporting (BOP), exchange control regulations, formatting of Society for worldwide international financial telecommunications messages (SWIFT)
- Knowledge and ability to work on MS Office, Excel/Word, Internet and MS.
- The ability to store, retrieve and when needed, destroy documents according to regulatory requirements and company policies for document management.
- Ability to express ideas by means of clear and effective writing, in order to support professional communication internally within the Bank and externally.
- The ability to coordinate multiple administrative activities in to enable the efficient operations of a department.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- To provide superior assistance and service to all customers who interact with Inward Telegraphic Transfers via the call center line telephonically or via an electronic medium.
- To ensure that all transactions to be processed accurately within the required turnaround time with minimum risk and cost to the Bank.
- Ensure that payments are be prioritized by value date.
- To ensure all clients receive prompt feedback regarding the funds tracing queries.
- Ensure all payments processed before the respective currency cut off times.
- Obtain the necessary regulatory compliance reporting details to complete the Balance of Payment (BOP) record - Balance of Payment (BOP) category amongst other client missing information.
- Ensuring that all Balance of Payment (BOP) records are completed and submitted to the CD within two business days.
- Amend and update all exceptions on the appropriate systems by ensuring the respective fields on the swift payment instruction are correct and accurate.
- Capture all swift message processing messages, memos and deleted items that are given by the senior officers in the CIB Operations Payments Department i.e., Releaser/ Supervisor and or Manager.
- Attend to all Continuous Link Settlement (CLS) payments every morning, focus is required on the “Pending CLS” (Continuous Link Settlement) queue and the swift instruction must be checked against the error fields on the Rand Payments system and amended accordingly. The values on these transactions range from any amount up to R5 billion and higher.
- Ensure that payments are prioritized by first processing the outgoing and then the incoming payments.
- Ensure that all transactions appearing in the exception queues is checked against the instruction received and the error fields amended accordingly and processed before the cut off time.
- Ensure all revenue recovered.
- Assume full accountability of problem resolution.
- To ensure that SLA’s and turnaround times are met.
- To manage stakeholder relationships through continuous communication and strive to improve operational efficiencies.
- In verification process, if no errors are identified, the transaction may be captured and/or released within laid down service level agreements on the relevant systems.
- Immediately escalate and refer any system downtime to Team Leader and or Manager.
- Handle incoming telephone calls effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure all queries attended to and ensure timeous resolution.
- Daily agreed targets to be met as per the performance management contract (PM).
- Ensure multiskilling of all payment products.
- Secure Exchange rates with Treasury dealers for the settlement of the corporate clients' instructions.
- Ensure processing intended for CIB Data Processing Centre is done before their cut-off time.
- Ensure all clients instructions and confidential information locked away at the end of each day.
- Adherence to laid down Due Diligence processes and procedures.
- Ensuring accurate processing of transactions thereby mitigating risk and avoiding losses
- Ensuring applicable revenue is recovered.
- Ensure that at the end of the day all instructions received have been processed and attended to
