The Regional Infrastructure Lead is a technical hands-on role with the additional responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Infrastructure Team and acting as an escalation point and incident manager; reporting into the IT Leadership team, primarily the Director, IT Infrastructure and Security.

The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day activities of the IT Infrastructure team are completed, and all relevant services are operational and secure. Handling the adherence to agreed service levels, and assisting with the prioritisation of changes, BAU and project work.

In addition, and critically this role will be responsible for managing critical incidents during and outside of core working hours, ensuring the correct team resources are involved, communicating incident status to relevant parties and engaging with 3rd parties and vendors when required.

**Maintaining the estate**
- Ensure a stable and reliable core infrastructure, and that timely 24/7 support for infrastructure services is in place and fit for purpose so that critical services are highly available.
- Implementing, maintaining and testing infrastructure elements of the IT Disaster Recovery process and backup environment.
- Ensure the estate is efficiently managed, with complete and accurate records and documentation kept.
- Monitor infrastructure platforms so they remain within support and are appropriately licensed
- Maintain the availability, integrity, and security of data, according to published SLAs and in line with policies and required compliance.
- Maintaining a compliant and secure infrastructure, in line with our PCI and SOC2 accreditations, working with IT leadership, team members and Information Security to ensure endpoint protection, security logging and vulnerability management is operating effectively and in line with established policies.
- Work with colleagues ensuring infrastructure change follows a defined architectural governance process.
- Assist with the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure related technologies, providing sufficient notice for end-of-life components to have planned replacements within defined annual budgetary cycles (avoid surprises).

**Regional Lead responsibilities**
- Making sure that the day-to-day workload and priorities of the infrastructure team as set by the Director, Infrastructure and Security are understood and progressed.
- Taking the lead during business impacting incidents, working as an incident manager in and out of core business hours
- Assisting the team to ensure resources are scheduled efficiently and effectively for both “business as usual” operations and projects.
- Assisting with the creation of policies, procedures and runbooks to improve efficiency and ensure best practice for the teams’ functional area.
- Looking for issues and questioning the status quo, constantly working to fill any procedural or configuration gaps in the environment.

**Requirements**:
**Technical Skills & Qualifications Required**
- Graduate-level qualified in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
- A solid technical infrastructure background with prior (and current) experience in the core infrastructure technologies (networks, servers, virtualisation, storage, )
- Excellent understanding of networking (and networking security) principles and technologies, LAN, WAN, Routing, Firewalls, VPN, IP Addressing, Wireless (knowledge of WatchGuard firewalls a benefit
- Excellent technical understanding of VMware and NSX
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft datacentre and operations technology stack, AD, AAD, O365.
- Solid understanding of cloud technology and use cases primarily Azure and AWS
- Solid understanding of managing Microsoft SCCM and Intune / Endpoint Manager
- Experience of large-scale fault tolerant systems a benefit
- Experience of leading a team of technical staff a benefit
- Good communications skills, comfortable with communicating technical concepts to a sometimes-non-technical audience
