Job Description

Hyundai Automotive South Africa Pty Ltd is looking for a Technical Trainer at Motus Training Academy based in Gauteng. The Training Officer will be responsible for facilitating learning according to predetermined frameworks.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Training and Development

  1. Conduct automotive trade theory training.
  2. Facilitate learning according to predetermined lesson frameworks. Engage learners in an interactive 360° learning methodology.
  3. Use of tactile learning methodologies through demonstrations and displays.
  4. Use of learning stimuli methods in the media and presentations on CDX and other platforms.
  5. Utilize a variety of interactive assessments and CDX to determine competence.
  6. Implement innovative and rational learning methodologies (Spontaneous and "Out of the box" approach).
  7. Ensure learning is aligned to the assessments and that learners are best prepared for assessments.
  8. Maintain discipline and respect in the learning environment.
  9. Due to the nature of the company's business, you may be asked to work overtime from time to time on reasonable notice. In the event of an emergency, you will be expected to work without notice.

Automotive Practical Training

  1. Adhere to occupational health and safety rules and regulations.
  2. Facilitate learning according to predetermined lesson frameworks.
  3. Engage learners in an interactive 360° learning methodology.
  4. Use tactile learning methodologies through demonstrations and displays.
  5. Support learners during practical engagements.
  6. Provide learners ample opportunity to engage practically and practice under supervision.
  7. Utilize a variety of interactive assessments to determine reflexive competence.
  8. Implement innovative and rational learning methodologies (Spontaneous and "Out of the box" approach).
  9. Ensure learning is aligned to the assessments and that learners are best prepared for assessments.
  10. Maintain discipline and respect in the learning environment.

Administration of Training

  1. Ensure training registers are completed daily.
  2. Ensure all assessments, reports, and learning activities are signed off weekly.
  3. Ensure all learner files are completed and submitted on AMS or to the administration office at the end of each week.
  4. Note: The same standards are applied as in "Automotive trade theory training", "Automotive practical training", and "Administration of training" processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Grade 12 or equivalent NTC trade qualification.
  2. Qualified Automotive artisan.
  3. Diesel trade is an added advantage.
  4. Preferably accredited facilitator, assessor, and moderator.
  5. 5 years experience as an ETDP.
  6. 3 years in a management role and/or leadership role.

  5. Presentation skills.
  6. Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
