Job Title : Retail Business Development Manager
Location : Western Cape
Reports to : Head of Retail
Business Unit : Investment Management (Retail Division)

Job Summary :
The Retail Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving the growth of the companys retail investment portfolio in the Western Cape. This individual will be responsible for developing strategic relationships within the retail investment market, including Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs), Multi-managers, and LISP platforms. The successful candidate will utilize their extensive industry experience and network to expand the brand's presence and increase the distribution of investment products.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Market and distribute investment funds to the Western Cape retail investment market.
  • Expand brand presence and footprint across the region.
  • Build and maintain a network of IFAs, DFMs, multi-managers, and LISP platforms.
  • Provide exceptional client service to stakeholders interested in or invested in the company's funds.
  • Proactively promote the brand within the retail market.
  • Collaborate with institutional teams to align efforts and enhance brand visibility.
  • Form partnerships with other fund managers when beneficial.

Required Experience :

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the investment industry.
  • Strong network and relationships within the Western Cape retail investment market.
  • In-depth understanding of investment products and systematic investment management approaches.
  • Proven ability to build and manage client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and influencing skills.

Qualifications :

  • A completed degree in Commerce, Finance, Investment, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) would be an advantage.
