Description A leading media organisation / advertising platform is looking for an experienced Direct Sales Executive with strong experience in media sales, preferably radio or related advertising services, to join their team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute Direct Sales Executive to drive growth across new revenue streams by identifying potential advertisers, creating compelling campaign proposals and recommending application‑specific solutions, and closing deals. Responsibilities Actively seek out, identify, and qualify new business opportunities and potential clients across the market to secure new advertising revenue. Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients, maintaining strong relationships to ensure renewal and expansion of advertising campaigns. Develop and present tailored, compelling sales proposals and presentations that effectively demonstrate the value of the platform's advertising solutions to potential and existing customers. Efficiently manage all sales‑related paperwork, including contracts, insertion orders, and necessary administrative duties to ensure smooth campaign execution and compliance. Maintain a thorough understanding of the media landscape, competitor activity, and industry trends to inform sales strategies and client recommendations. Meet and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue and activity targets. Prepare and submit regular, accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and weekly activity reports to sales management. Work closely with the creative, production, and finance teams to ensure client campaigns are executed correctly and deadlines are met. Assist the finance department in ensuring that clients meet payment deadlines and resolve any outstanding debt issues. Requirements A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Marketing, Sales, or Business Management). Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in direct media sales, with a strong preference for radio advertising experience. Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets. Demonstrable expertise in generating new business and managing key client accounts. Exceptional ability to negotiate and close deals at various levels. Strong financial literacy to manage pricing, budgets, and client debt. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using a CRM system.
