Project Manager Banking Sector (Banking: IT Infrastructure Projects)

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field .
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent).
  • ITIL Certification (preferred) for IT service management.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud ) are a plus
Experience:
  • 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in the banking sector managing IT infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading hardware, software replacements, and system upgrades in a banking environment.
  • Experience working with enterprise IT infrastructure , including servers, storage, networking, cloud migration, and cybersecurity .
  • Strong background in vendor and stakeholder management , ensuring seamless delivery of IT infrastructure initiatives.
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of banking IT infrastructure , including core banking systems, data centers, cloud services, and cybersecurity frameworks .
  • Familiarity with banking regulatory requirements , compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001), and risk management.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure lifecycle management, system integrations, and disaster recovery planning .
  • Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid project methodologies .
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), virtualization, and networking technologies .
  1. Skills & Competencies:
  • Leadership & Team Management: Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT engineers, security teams, and business units.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Experience managing relationships with banking executives, external vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Budget & Risk Management: Strong financial planning skills to manage IT project budgets, risks, and timelines effectively.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth infrastructure deployment.
  • Change Management: Experience leading IT transformation and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Preferred Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects and digital banking transformation.
  • Experience with large-scale system upgrades, software patching, and compliance-driven IT changes .
  • Knowledge of emerging banking technologies, cybersecurity threats, and resilience planning .
