The company is known for its ethical business practices, strong client relationships, and professional, values-driven culture.The Role: Business Development Executive (Freight News)This role is focused on growing advertising revenue across Freight News' print and digital platforms. You'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business, managing a renewal portfolio, and building strong client relationships. You'll work closely with the internal team to ensure seamless campaign delivery while meeting clear revenue targets. Occasional travel will be required to meet with clients and attend industry events.Key ResponsibilitiesMinimum 2 years of sales experience, ideally in advertising or mediaSell advertising solutions (online and print) to new clients in the freight and logistics sectorResearch and identify new prospects, make contact, and pitch tailored advertising solutionsManage and grow a renewal portfolio, maintaining and increasing ad spendMaintain accurate daily records of client interactions and pipelines on CRMMeet monthly sales targets: R200 000 combined (R50 000 new business, R150 000 renewals)Attend networking events, client meetings, and travel as needed to secure businessWork with the ad coordinator to ensure timely delivery of advertising materialsFollow all booking and advertising deadlines and sign-off proceduresRepresent the company with professionalism, upholding its reputation and valuesAbout YouMatric required; marketing diploma or degree advantageousProven sales experience, ideally in media, advertising, or B2B environmentsExperience or interest in freight, logistics, or supply chain sectors is beneficialConfident, articulate communicator with strong presentation skillsCRM-savvy and comfortable with admin-heavy processes and reportingTarget-driven with a track record of exceeding sales goalsAble to work both independently and within a team environmentStrong writing skills for proposals and client correspondenceProfessional, well-groomed, and credible in client-facing situationsPositive, likable, and relationship-focused approach to sales
