City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa Arvo Full time

Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a seasoned Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us source, identify, screen, and hire candidates for various roles in the company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, 8-10 years of experience in talent acquisition, and proficiency with applicant tracking systems. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with our European and APAC People team members.

Objectives of this role

• Provide strategic input to ensure that teams consist of diverse, qualified individuals.

• Ensure that staffing needs are being met with a long-term strategy in mind.

• Create and implement end-to-end hiring processes to ensure a positive experience for candidates.

• Form close relationships with People Leads to ensure clear expectations for candidates and interviewers.

• Lead the initial screening of candidates' CVs and recommend suitable candidates to our in-country Head of People for further interviews

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional Heads of People to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.

• Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks.

• Create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.

• Compile lists of the most suitable candidates by assessing their CVs, portfolios, and references.

• Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes and related paperwork, to share with key stakeholders.

• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the recruitment process.

• Coordinate recruitment efforts for niche roles across different markets, ensuring compliance with regional hiring regulations.

• Use platforms like LinkedIn, job boards, and University Portals to manage the candidate pipeline.

• Build strong relationships and ensure clear expectations with internal stakeholders, hiring managers, and candidates to ensure a smooth and positive recruitment experience.

Required skills and qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role.

• Extensive experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.

• Proficiency with social media, CV databases, and professional networks.

• Experience in using LinkedIn Talent Solutions to proactively source candidates.

• Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other HR tools to streamline the recruitment process.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources management or a similar field.

• In-depth knowledge of applicant tracking systems, preferably BambooHR.

• Experience recruiting for both professional and consultancy roles, ideally within the technology, strategy, or management consulting sectors.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to understand their needs and deliver top-tier candidates in a timely manner.

• Ability to craft compelling job descriptions and candidate communication to enhance engagement and response rates.

• Experience building talent pipelines for future needs and maintaining long-term relationships with high-potential candidates.

Flexible Work Considerations:

• This role is designed with flexibility in mind, offering a degree of adaptability in how work is performed. While some remote work may be possible, the expectation is that the majority of working time will be spent in the office. This structure ensures strong collaboration, effective teamwork, and alignment with business needs.

• We believe in the value of in-person interactions to foster innovation, problem-solving, and a strong workplace culture. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be comfortable working predominantly from our office while benefiting from occasional flexibility when needed.

• Strong self-management and time-management skills are essential.

• Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup.

• Regular virtual meetings and communication with team members across different time zones.

• Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel for team meetings or company events.

About us:

• We help ambitious businesses overcome complex challenges and achieve great things.

• We create impactful solutions delivered by passionate people who care deeply about quality.

• We make the first version the best version and conduct ourselves with integrity and honesty.

• Our refreshing approach to consulting, which involves a deep understanding of our client's unique challenges, a collaborative problem- solving process, and a commitment to delivering practical and sustainable solutions, has rewarded us with a legacy of client confidence and trust, fueling our vision to become one of the most highly valued consulting firms. We focus on delivering real impact; tangible and measurable improvement that gets our clients the results they want, achieved in a human, genuine and practical way that creates trust.

• Our people have the freedom to think innovatively, work autonomously, and be empowered to make their own decisions, whilst working in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our team has decades of cross-sector expertise, working with global blue chips, SMEs, ambitious scale-ups, and inspiring charities. Alongside that experience, we bring the right attitude: positivity, solution focus, empathy, and awareness.

• As a Talent Specialist, you will play a critical role in scaling our teams by attracting and recruiting top-tier talent. You'll partner closely with hiring managers, understand the nuances of our business needs, and identify candidates who will thrive within our culture.
