Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 with Mechanical / Engineering related Diploma
  • 10+ years experience in the food manufacturing industry, specific to equipment below:
    • Milling Machine: Lagun FU4-L
    • Lathe Colchester Mastiff 1400
    • Lathe CY Series cy-l 1640G
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Precision machining of keyways, flat surfaces, specialized parts, shafts, boring shafts, threads, facing off of machined parts.
  • Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines.
  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
  • Select appropriate machine and setting for a given task.
  • Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Monitors production, adjusts feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of completed products.
  • Check output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
  • Identify need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
