**Eastern Cape**, East London**

**We are seeking a Bookkeeper for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.**

**Applicants are required to meet the following criteria**:

- Grade 12 with a B.Degree in accounting / related field preferred
- 5+ years work experience in bookkeeping / accounting - manufacturing industry preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software packages and strong accounting practices knowledge
- Strong communication & organizational skills and able to meet set deadlines

**The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to**:

- Maintain and update the company's financial records and transactions
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
- Process payroll and ensure all taxes are paid on time
- Prepare and file tax returns and other financial reports
- Prepare and manage budgets and financial forecasts
- Conduct regular audits of financial processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Respond to financial inquiries and provide support to management as needed
- Processing of VAT returns and e-filing
