Job Description

  • Africa Talent by Deloitte is seeking a talented Indirect Tax Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a VAT advisor, you will be part of an internationally operating team specialized in advising large companies, both Dutch and non-Dutch, in indirect taxes, supply chain optimization, mergers & acquisitions, audit investigations, alignment processes with tax authorities, interim VAT management, ensuring (foreign) VAT compliance as well as technology and ERP-related projects.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Advising clients on VAT matters, actively in various sectors including automotive, consumer products, retail, wholesale, distribution, transport, and hospitality.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues from the team in the Netherlands, from other disciplines, and colleagues from foreign offices.
  • Participation in (international) training and client events
  • Customer-oriented, with the client at the centre of solving issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce with Law, Accounting, Economics
  • Approximately 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
