IMPORT and EXPORT ADMINISTRATOR
Our client in the Life Sciences environment is recruiting for an administrator to take charge of the ordering, the importing and exporting logistics of their products from suppliers to clients. With experience in working with freight forwarders and couriers, and maintaining the cold-chain of biotech products, the perfect candidate would hit the ground running in this busy environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Import and Export Processes: Oversee end-to-end processes, placing orders, GRV stock, creating shipping documents, invoicing, etc.
- Compliance: Ensure all imports and exports comply with local and international regulations, tariffs, and customs laws.
- Supplier and Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, customers, and freight forwarders, negotiating terms and maintaining good relationships.
- Documentation: Prepare and review all import/export documents (e.g., waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
- Logistics Coordination: Work with freight carriers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or regulatory changes.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on the status of shipments and inventory, including cost analysis.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Education: Bachelors degree/ National Diploma in Business, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade laws, INCOTERMS, basic bookkeeping, and customs procedures.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Sage Evolution or any similar system
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in documentation and compliance.
