LIFE CHOICES - LEADERS QUEST COACH


Life Choices is a Cape Town-based nonprofit organisation that runs a variety of programmes working with young people in schools and communities, and through our on-site Campus.

Leaders' Quest is one of Life Choices' programmes.

It works with high school learners to help them to know themselves better, acquire useful life and personal leadership skills, and work towards a successful future.

The intervention uses a mix of theories, the main ones being: personal resilience, emotional intelligence and servant leadership. The activities generally use a learning cycle theory as the basis of their design and implementation.

Leaders' Quest is seeking to hire a coach/facilitator to join the team on a fixed contract basis.

Key responsibility areas include:

  • Run leadership training (two Saturdays per term and afterschool) to help improve learners acquire leadership and life skills.
  • Assist and implement a number of experiential activities, such as photography exhibition, public speaking event, social project, etc.
  • Assist learners to develop a clear plan for their future so that they can study further or become suitably employed by:Providing career guidance
  • Provide oneonone coaching offering emotional support and providing referrals where needed for additional psychosocial support.
  • Assist with career guidance lessons with Grade 9s.
  • Assist with additional holiday programmes or trainings with other Life Choices' departments or partner groups that use core Leaders' Quest content in their sessions.
  • Collect data on the programme and participate in the weekly team meetings.
  • Organise and assist with all Leaders' Quest activities and events as required.
  • Be an active and engaged member of the Life Choices team and represent the organisation with passion, enthusiasm and integrity.

To be considered for the role, you'll need the following:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Facilitation experience, preferably working with youth.
  • Knowledge of the Leaders' Quest programme is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Life Choices, its work and its ethos is essential.

R10, R12,500.00 per month
