KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Trade Marketing Team Lead to support the South African trade team in its primary and administrative duties.

Our ideal candidate loves marketing, sales, cold calling and is self-motivated and willing to learn. The candidate will work closely with the South African Trade Marketing Manager and the trade Agency.

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the teams trade marketing implementation to attain defined business objectives set out my Trade Marketing Manager.
  • Generate standards that drive maximum relationship building with Traders.
  • Serve as the link between Marketing and Sales.
  • Translate Trade marketing strategy into an actionable results.
  • Ensure adherence to operational & financial frameworks of practice.
  • Own their region's point of sale materials across implementation, maintenance & refresh.
  • Identify, communicate and activate opportunities to further drive development in trade.
  • Work closely with the Trade Marketing Manager on specific Trade Marketing plans/needs.
  • Identify customer insights to feed into the trade marketing strategy and translate them into winning experiences and actionable ideas that deliver on the businesses objectives.
  • Analyse market conditions and make recommendations to develop trade promotion plans; and motivate trade partners.
  • Analyse performance of all marketing programs to identify the best opportunities for optimization.
  • Partner closely with central trade marketing to enhance processes linking corporate brand building activities.
  • Provide trade marketing support to team when specific interventions are required.
  • Develop, supervise and improve procedures to link regional marketing activities to entire marketing activities directed by Trade Marketing Manager.
  • Drive best practice sharing across the region and Traders on an ongoing basis.
  • Analyse in-store KPIs and in-store execution on a regular basis, translating them into data driven progression opportunities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Sales/Marketing qualification an advantage.
  • Previous experience as Field Sales representative.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (specifically MS Office.)
  • The ability to swiftly adapt to changes in workplace and industry.
  • A strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure.
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Have be keen to take the initiative to contribute positively to the team.
  • Must be proactive in their duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
