Job Overview:

Job Duties:

  • Manage a small team of employees, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure efficient and effective performance.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the South African fruit industry and the cold chain to analyse data and prepare detailed reports for customers, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Regularly report to the CEO on performance metrics, project status, and other relevant information, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately, and project deliverables are met within the defined timeframes.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and address any potential issues or roadblocks that may impact project success.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal team members, customers, and key stakeholders, effectively communicating project updates and managing expectations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, incorporating them into the company's operations and strategies.
  • Implement and maintain robust project management methodologies and processes to ensure consistent and efficient project execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to proactively address potential project risks.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to optimize processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and/or supply chain management, with specific experience in the South African export fruit industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel (including powerpoint, vlookups), SQL, and PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal team members and external customers.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Detailoriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problemsolving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of cold chain logistics and perishable goods handling is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and documentation related to fruit export is a plus.
