Position Overview/ Summary

The purpose of this position is to lead, coordinate, plan, and manage health services, function, and ensure that effective administration support is available in this regard.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Compilation of reports regarding the operation of the department for submission to the COO and funders.
  • Establish and manage satellite clinics.
  • Create and maintain relationships with DOH and DSD
  • Ensure inservice training of staff compliment operating in the Department.
  • Implement the strategic plan of Rhiza Babuyile Community Development
  • Manage human resources, and staff complement in terms of leave, development, and administration including those officials on the PMS, and should be reported to the COO frequently.
  • Manage and ensure proper workflow and productivity in the department.
  • Ensure the availability of and monitor the proper utilization of resources (Human and Financial, infrastructure)
  • Monitor efficient and effective service delivery and the Service Delivery Plan as well as Operational Plan
  • Sit with the COO to manage the budget.
  • Attend management meetings internally and externally with partners.
  • Provide advice to the COO regarding operational matters in the Department of all Healthrelated issues.
  • Compiling of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Liaise with the community through outreach to introduce new services in the department.
  • Internally facilitate strategic planning in the department and appropriate liaison and presentation to partners and funders
  • Control reports regarding regional health policies, protocols, and plans of action.
  • Manage the Health Department within its facilities offering comprehensive Primary Health Care Service
  • Ensure that all National and Provincial decisions, policies, and protocols are implemented and address possible deviations.
  • Monitor the functioning of the District Health Information System and other information systems applicable to service rendering.
  • Ensure the improvement of health literacy and preventative curative and promotive health service strategy in the community.
  • Manage and Control the Budget by managing all procured items within the department.
  • Exercise control over assets within the health facilities
  • Preparation of budget and allocation to line item
  • Monitoring under and overspending of allocated Budget

Qualifications/ Education Level

  • Diploma in Nursing Science/ BACur degree with Management and Education Experience
  • Primary Healthcare Diploma
  • Diploma in general, Midwifery, Psychiatric, and Community
  • Microsoft suite package
