Aon South Africa is looking for a Healthcare Consultant to join our Employee Benefits team, based at our Head Office in Sandton.

The Healthcare Consultant's role involves managing, serving, and retaining a client portfolio by applying company policies and procedures to carry out various technical and professional activities. Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, the Healthcare Consultant plays a crucial role in the client life cycle.

What to expect in a typical day:

  • Acting as the main contact for clients.
  • Ensuring client retention and growth of the client portfolio.
  • Managing the signing and maintenance of service level agreements and appointment letters.
  • Developing and conducting healthcare-related educational programs and training.
  • Keeping client portfolio administrative and regulatory matters up-to-date.
  • Providing relevant reports and information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handling queries, applications, disputes, and client information needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Conducting benefit and cost comparisons and making subsidy recommendations.
  • Staying informed about industry and legislative changes and discussing their impact on employers and employees.
  • Supporting junior colleagues as needed.
  • Engaging in business development efforts at Aon South Africa.

Skills and experience that drive success:

Qualifications:

  • A recognized matric qualification.
  • An NQF 5 or equivalent qualification in healthcare/healthcare administration.
  • A relevant bachelor's degree from a reputable institution.
  • Registration as a representative with the necessary regulatory bodies.
  • Accreditation with specific medical schemes and health products.

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in relevant technical/professional principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze and present medical scheme data objectively to clients.
  • Contribution to client wellness strategy and thorough policy knowledge.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong analytical, teamwork, communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Excel and Word.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive healthcare background and proven consulting success.
