Requirements:

  • A minimum of a relevant B.Eng. or BSc Electrical Engineering or
BTech Eng. (Light Current) coupled with a minimum of 5 years IS&T

experience and 3 years experience in radio networks

  • TETRA Radio and microwave systems experience will serve as an
advantage

  • A valid Code B driver's licence
  • Be able to work at heights
  • Knowledge of the Electronic Communications Act, ICASA
regulations and OH & S Act

Key Performance Areas

  • Ensure ongoing support and maintenance of the City's radio
networks

  • Perform the technical lead role for the expansion of the City's radio
networks

  • Compile standard operating procedures, draft tender specifications
and management of tenders and contracts

  • Manage Radio Network projects and budget
  • Engage with TETRA Radio Users in the City and all spheres of
Government

  • Ensure that the City's TETRA Radio infrastructure is managed
effectively and efficiently

  • Manage and motivate TETRA Radio staff
  • Ensure compliance with the Electronic Communications Act, e.g.
ICASA spectrum regulations
