A well-established Company that manufactures and distributes specialized Thermal and Electrical Insulation Materials is looking for an Internal Costing and Estimation Clerk to join their Team.


Your main purpose will be to:

estimate the cost and amount of materials, labour, and equipment to complete each job quoted within the workshop environment.

Also known as the cost planner, responsible for estimating the cost of a planned or unplanned (Breakdown) project.

Minimum Requirements:

2 Years experience in a similar role
Basic understanding of accounting principles and terminology
Proficiency in using spreadsheets and financial software for data entry and analysis
Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations and estimations
Attention to detail and ability to work with numbers precisely
Organizational skills to manage and maintain cost records efficiently
Good communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others effectively
Demonstrated ability to analyse cost data, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions
Capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Duties and Responsibilities:

Determine the required quantity of materials for each job based on available resources.
Collaborate with the workshop manager and NSOM to keep costing information up to date.
Monitor and evaluate labour hours spent on job completion.
Keep accurate records of timekeeping for cost assessment.
Prepare and send out quotes on the same day as requested.
Create kits within two to three days, using templates for larger kits to streamline the process.
Generate unique codes in the system for materials without duplications.
Organize items within the same group and close/delete irrelevant items from the system.
Work closely with the sales team to follow up on pending quotes and ensure timely responses to customers.
Record the official cost of a completed job by booking off the materials used in the system daily.

Estimate job costs accurately, including different material calculations (e.g., square meters to rolls, log size conversions, sheet cutting based on drawings).

Maintain a history of all quotes done for reference.
Convert calculated costs into quotes using the Job SYS system.
Convert units into decimals for precise system understanding (e.g., converting full width roll into smaller rolls).
Use the latest and updated documentation available on the ISO Office system.
Access and implement company policies available for download on the ISO Office system.
Participate in training provided for the role's responsibilities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
