HEAD OF DEPARTMENT AFRIKAANS HOME AND ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE WCED COLLABORATION SCHOOL PERMANENT POST


Kraaifontein High School is seeking a dynamic Head of Department for Afrikaans Home language and Additional language to provide support to the school management team (SMT) while working collaboratively with the School Operating Partner - Education Ally to improve curriculum management and delivery and learner results.


The applicant must be a recognised teacher with the relevant qualifications and who is competent to teach in both the GET and FET phase.


CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB IS:

  • To assist the school management team in leading the school; actively champion, support and implement the collaboration school interventions.
  • To engage in class teaching, including the academic, administrative, educational, disciplinary, and reporting aspects, to undertake leadership responsibilities assigned to the HOD position and to organise extra and cocurricular activities so as to ensure that the education of the learners is promoted in a proper manner.
  • To embrace the Collaboration School model, working in close collaboration and cooperation with the School Operating Partner (SOP) and the WCED in developing and embedding this model, being open to experimentation and change.
  • To undertake all assigned roles and responsibilities as updated from year to year and as reflected in the workplan.

THE CANDIDATE
in this role must have the following:

  • A teaching qualification equivalent to REQV 13/14 or Higher
  • A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience specialising in Afrikaans as Home Language or First additional language at a high school.
  • Working experience and indepth knowledge of GET or FET phase curriculum (CAPS)
  • Certification through the South African Council of Educators (SACE)
  • Must be a South African Citizen or a holder of a Permanent Residency Permit

Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Employment Type and Salary

Salary:
R20, R30,000.00 per month
