Purpose of the job:

  • To present, promote and sell company products and services, as well as to establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships in order to achieve budgeted sales growth.

Key Performance areas:

  • To deliver and effective and efficient sales services to customers
  • Be an ambassador for the company when interacting with customers internally and externally.
  • Be accountable for tasks assigned to you and to deliver outputs on time and on the due dates set by management for the Branch.
  • Process overthecounter customer orders 100% correct on the internal systems.
  • Assist with counter sales in a professional manner and ensure to market all features of the company's products.
  • Process quotations, delivery notes, invoices and credit notes 100% correct daily according to company policies, procedures, processes and practices.
  • File sales related documentation daily 100% correct and according to company procedures and practices. Ensure it is retrievable.
  • Answer the telephone within 2 rings and in a professional manner. Report telephone problems immediately to the Branch Manager and HO.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient housekeeping within internal sales. Keep the sales area in a neat, tidy and safe condition at all times.
  • Receive, process and invoice repairs daily according to company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Perform general administrative duties relating to internal sales, external sales and general functions at the branch and adhere to company policies, procedures and practices in doing so.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient housekeeping within the warehouse
  • Ensure stock productivity targets are met daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Ensure all stock can be accounted for. 100% accurate inventory administration and ensure that stock movement is captured 100% on the system daily.
  • Ensure stock levels are proactively maintained. No out of stock allowed.
  • Ensure all stock received and issued are allocated 100% to the relevant branch, department, warehouse, cost centre and customer.
  • Ensure invoices and delivery notes are processed daily and that information on the documentation are 100% correct when loaded onto the company systems used (Excel, SAGE etc).
  • Capture stock breaks and shorts (Warehouse breakages, stock destroyed, stock adjustments, customer replacements or returns).
  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly stock cycle counts.
  • Ensure all stock variances are accounted for 100%.
  • Investigate and analyse stock variances and ensure it is resolved within that month with your branch manager/HO.
  • Capture stock take 100% accurately the first time.
  • Report daily, weekly and monthly on stock levels to the Branch Manager or any other relevant manager at HO.
  • Forward cycle count sheets monthly to HO on the due date set by the MD.
  • Ensure to comply 100% too company policies, procedures, practices and rules relating to stock management.
  • To perform general administrative duties related to sales, service and support
  • Assist with general driving duties and customer deliveries, if and when required. Always comply with legislative requirements when driving a company vehicle and company vehicle policies, procedures, practices and rules.
  • Ensure all paperwork and administration is done daily according to company policy, procedures, rules and practices on the due dates set by management or HO.
  • Noncompliance to company policies, procedures, practices and rules may lead to disciplinary action.
  • To report potential risks (stock losses, following of incorrect procedures, stock shortages, system problems etc) within the branch immediately to management.
  • To perform adhoc duties within the ambit of your job and when required operationally to assist at another branch.
  • Assist with Service and Support on a monthly basis in doing the following:
  • Processing and capturing of job-cards on technicians' report.
  • Qualifications


NQF
  • Grade 12 (Matric)


NQF5 or
  • Diploma in Marketing will be an advantage.
  • Experience
  • 35 years' experience in sales. Experience in the gate and manufacturing industry would be an advantage.
  • Computer Skills
  • Other requirements
  • The ability to work to deadlines and to reach targets.
  • Must have a valid drivers' license.
  • Computer Literate
  • No criminal record.
  • Must be a South African Citizen.

  • This position also requires work outside the official working hours or on Saturdays for stock taking or training sessions, if and when required.
