As a Production Specialist in South Africa, you will be responsible for the execution of seed productions of multiple crops whereby Onions are the main crop , ensuring optimal planning and advising 3rd party growers and farmers to ensure optimal conditions, quality and yields.

In this position you will report to theRegional Production Lead based in Oudshoorn.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities:


Responsible for the execution and monitoring of operational activities to ensure the production orders are executed according to plan and the best adherence to plan is achieved.

Responsible for operational management of suppliers through weekly and monthly following of crop management, review of crop results and reporting
Advise and align on crop management to obtain maximum quality and planned quantity. Ensure all phytosanitary and quality protocols are followed and all certifications and administration performed timely.

Responsible for updating the Latest Estimate (LE) regarding running productions in the Enza ERP system and where required in the planning system (in alignment with the Production Planner).

Contribute to the production planning processes to ensure correct and optimal production data and parameters in the systems (e.g. ProfiApp, ERP system, planning system).
Your Power Your affinity and experience with plants are of great value.

Your love for plants, agronomic curiosity and adeptness at "reading plants" empowers you to detect crop issues and implement essential actions and communicate/discuss this with the growers.

You maintain a good overview and are skilled in planning and organizing.

In international interactions with colleagues and producers, your adaptability shines as you tailor your approach to diverse cultures and local conditions.


In short you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences or (International) Agribusiness Studies.
3 to 5 years experience in agribusiness and/or (vegetable) seed cultivation.
A passion for plants and an eye for plant-related pests and diseases.
Excellent communication skills in the English language.
Analytical and solution-oriented.
Willing to travel (within and sometimes outside of South Africa).
Hold a valid driver's license.
