Wynberg Boys' High School is seeking to appoint an experienced Marketing Manager to provide support in raising the visibility of the school by carrying out an effective marketing and communications plan to attract new families and sponsors across the school's portfolio and publicise the school's strengths.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC MARKETING

  • Develop an indepth knowledge of parent needs and of local market trends and developments to inform school marketing strategies.
  • Drafting and managing a Marketing strategy development plan in consultation with Senior Management and School Governing Body.
  • Drafting and managing a social media strategy development plan in consultation with Senior Management and the School Governing Body (SGB).
  • Identify areas of growth and improvement, quantify, scope, budget and motivate for SGB approval, before implementing.
  • Define effective parent engagement strategies and their experience across all marketing and admissions touchpoints.

MARKETING EXECUTION

  • Implement advertising, communications, and event activities to support recruitment and retention.
  • Develop and execute effective PR initiatives across digital and social media channels which build positive brand awareness
  • Contribute to school website including content and customer experience and the school's social media channels.
  • General website management.
  • Provide termly reports to School Governing Body.
  • Attend all major sport events.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and manage relationships with feeder schools to support enrolment growth.
  • Identify relevant communitybased initiatives in which the school can play a relevant part, to support awareness / positive brand perception etc.
  • Work collaboratively with school colleagues and admissions team, contribute to sharing of best practices.
  • Public and media liaison.
  • Press releases and liaising with the press regarding results and achievements.

MARKETING COMMUNICATION COLLATERAL AND PUBLICITY MATERIAL

  • Writing and producing marketing material (brochures, posters, flyers etc.) for the school's programmes.
  • Preparing marketing collateral for the school.
  • Responsible for the school's publicity stands and other eventsupport material. Ordering new stock as required and ensuring the supply of stock to events.
  • Managing the supply of literature to the clients pitched and collating and dispatching literature and other display material.
  • Ensuring prompt followup of exhibition enquiries/leads.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & CORPORATE DESIGN

  • Responsible for the marketing budget and related expenditures.
  • Responsible for sourcing, obtaining quotes, procurement, and stock control of staff clothing, supporters' clothing, schoolboys' clothing sold in the school shop, cheerleaders clothing, festival and tournament clothing, promotional material, corporate gifts,etc.

LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE

  • Completing and submitting all legally required documentation.
  • Preparation of submissions for approval to WCED for events hosted by the school.

EVENTS & PUBLICATIONS

  • Assistance and coordination of the school's Open Days.
  • Taking prospective learners and parents on school tours.
  • Overall responsibility for major school activities, including budgeting, invoicing, procurement and planning and execution.
  • Marketing support for the school's annual activities, planned and unscheduled.
  • Planning and executing school events in relation to fundraising.
  • Overall responsibility for coordinating parent associations and volunteers.
  • Organise and attend headmaster's postmatchfunctions for home sporting events.
  • Publications of newsletters, school prospectus, virtual school tours, virtual hostel tours, electronic screen and notice board content.

SPONSORSHIPS

  • Sponsorship Agreements check school exposure and compliance and negotiate changes before signature by the headmaster.
  • Ensuring sponsorship agreements are honoured and no conflicting sponsors are brought on board.
  • Ensure signed contracts are in place and delivered upon, and that feedback reports provided.
  • Identifying and executing major fundraising activities for the school, to ensure targets set by SGB are met, e.g. annual Golf Day
  • Sourcing advertisers, invoicing, obtaining artwork for designer and providing feedback.
  • Liaising with the school fundraiser re contracts and feedback reports.

QUALIFICATIONS
B. Degree in Marketing management and /or equivalent and similar

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in social media.
  • Stakeholder relations management.
  • Raising sponsorship.
  • Must be fully computer literate.
  • Excellent communication with parents and learners.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Experience with MS Office (proficiency in Excel and Word, Power point).
  • Possess assertive, prioritydriven, and leadership qualities.
