OMI Solutions is looking for a Mine Closure and Costing Consultant who will be responsible for:

  • Financial provisioning including the preparation of closure costs aligned with the requirements of GNR1147, environmental remediation and asset retirement obligation and financial liability and assurance calculations;
  • Involvement with mine closure, decommissioning and rehabilitation planning, including action plans, schedules, costing and cash flows;
  • Preparation of land capability and land use plans;
  • Preparation of annual financial quantum.

Qualifications, experience and requirements:

  • Minimum Honours Qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Similar Field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in mine closure and costing.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental policies/legislation.
  • Competent in Word and Excel, as well as relevant research methods;
  • Must have experience in financial provisioning and closure;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so.
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
  • Must also be able to function productively as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Code B (code 8) driver's licence (own transport would be advantageous).
