Job Purpose

To supplement the skillset and offering of SLR's Africa Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineering teams with a focus on mine closure assessments, strategies, and plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage closure-related projects, providing support to Business Leads.
  • Consult and collaborate with stakeholders to provide solutions for clients.
  • Calculate mine, oil & gas, and industrial closure costs that meet requirements.
  • Liaise with clients and financial auditors to address closure liability queries.
  • Develop and implement closure project plans, guiding decommissioning and rehabilitation activities.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of closure plans and liability assessments.
  • Plan and execute site visits.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a consulting environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • BSc. Engineering/Environmental Science or similar.
  • Experience with GIS software and spatial data analysis.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Professional registration (advantageous).
  • Offshore Oil & Gas Closure experience (advantageous).
