Job Related Requirments Experience +3 years or more relevant experience: o Lead logistics (LLP) and/or Freight Management Services (FMS) and/or Warehouse Management Services (WMS) o Building and administration of business intelligence tools such as Power BI or an equivalent.


  • 5 years or more relevant experience:
  • Support, maintenance, and administration of o Supply Chain Orchestration systems, and o Warehouse Management Systems, and o Transport Management Systems, and o Transport cost auditing and payment systems
  • Advanced o Advanced Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL o data processing using EDI interfaces between, Client, Warehouse and Carrier TMS systems. o Transport and Warehouse system knowledge & workflows. +5 years supply chain logistics experience in at least two of the following industry sectors

  • Advanced data base querying skills using mainly PostgreSQL.
  • The ability to apply, manage and maintain business rules and workflows in the FMS system.
  • Ability to navigate, contribute and support technical service-related implementation and maintenance.
  • Ability to recognize an opportunity for optimization of EDI interface processes within a framework of Global IT governance and compliance guidelines. People skills
  • The ability to lead a team with focus on growing the skill level in the team and empowerment of team members to reach their goals.
  • The ability to manage projects on a team level to enable the team to reach deadlines and targets.
  • To be a self-starter that is comfortable working with minimal supervision be it in office or remotely. Communication skills

Main purpose of the role We are seeking an experienced Business Support Manager with a strong technical background in the supply chain warehousing and transport sector, specializing in supply chain orchestration platform software.

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in complex platform configurations, interface integrations, troubleshooting, user support, solution documentation, testing, development, team leadership, and budget management.

As the Business Support Manager, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of our supply chain orchestration systems while reporting into business and liaising with the various IT teams.

This role will also report directly into the General Manager for Freight Management Services and will be based at DSV Park, Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Receiving, validating, and investigating FMS system related issues (tickets, incidents) reported by business. Solving, sourcing, and coordinating the solution of such problems. 2.

Fulfilling the role as the lead point of contact for day-to-day FMS support enquiries as well as the escalation point for the same to both internal and external parties.

Managing the relationship and performance of:
a. internal FMS dependent service providers such as DSV BCM (Local IT), DSV Solutions Global SCE IT (Governance and guidelines). b. External FMS dependent service providers such as DSV contracted developers and platform support providers. 4.

Managing, monitoring, reporting, and supporting the cost and budget elements related to the FMS support function or area for DSV FMS (Freight Management Services) 5.

Proven track record of managing budgets and delivering projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. 6.

Supporting the design, development and implementation and features for new customer or logistics service provider onboarding using the DSV FMS systems.

7.

Ongoing evaluation of the existing FMS processes, interfaces and way of working driving optimal performance and driving FMS performance improvements.

8.

Active leading role to the effectiveness, efficiency, and user friendliness of the FMS to operations, and clients alike including customer facing portals and data accuracy on integration-based solutions.

9. Support new feature releases and developments on the DSV FMS system including testing, validation, prior to release into production. Supporting the implementation with the supplier during release windows. 10. Play a leading role in driving standardization and process optimization to eliminate unnecessary manual intervention in legacy implementations. 11. Monitoring and validation of critical EDI interfaces making sure they are functioning as required.

  • Ensure appropriate level of documentation of technical solutions and the training of users on the technical use of the FMS platform (s). 13. In the longer term it is expected that participation in designing, as well as setting up in full, of reports for financial results, performance and shipment details becomes part of the role.
