Purpose of Position:
The BBBEE Specialist will develop, implement, and monitor the organisation's BBBEE strategy to ensure compliance with BBBEE legislation.
This role involves conducting audits, preparing documentation, and reporting to management on BBBEE-related matters.
The specialist will also work with various stakeholders to drive initiatives that enhance the company's BBBEE status.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
BBBEE Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement BBBEE strategies and plans to improve the company's BBBEE scorecard, leading to increased opportunities and improved ROI for the organisation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of BBBEE strategies and initiatives, to ensure the organisation is maximizing points per spend.
  • Advise senior management on BBBEE-related matters and industry best practices

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure the company complies with all aspects of BBBEE legislation and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate BBBEE reports and documentation to relevant authorities and stakeholders, including scorecards and progress updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular BBBEE audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with internal departments to gather necessary information for BBBEE compliance.
  • Work closely with HR, Procurement, and other departments to integrate BBBEE requirements into their processes.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including verification agencies, industry bodies, and government entities, to stay updated on BBBEE regulations and changes

Training and Development:

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on BBBEE policies and practices.
  • Develop and implement programs to support the development of black employees and supplier Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Track and report on the company's BBBEE scorecard performance.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in the company's BBBEE strategy and make recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a BBBEE compliance calendar to ensure timely submission of reports and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate Skills Development documentation records, including verification reports, certificates, and compliance records

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  • BBBEE Management Development Programme (MDP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BBBEE compliance and reporting

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  • In-depth understanding of the BBBEE Act and related legislation.
  • Familiarity with the BBBEE Codes of Good Practice and sector charters.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and regulations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate BBBEE requirements and strategies to various stakeholders.

Project Management:

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Achievement of targeted BBBEE scorecard levels.
  • Timely and accurate submission of BBBEE reports and documentation.
  • Successful implementation of BBBEE initiatives and programs.
  • Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders on BBBEE initiatives.
  • Maximizing points per spend and increase ROI
