Purpose:
The incumbent oversees, guides and supports all HR related activities in the Operations Division.

This role forms part of Management and performs a supportive role by driving strategic HR functions aligned to culture, financial position and business objectives.

The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Human Resources and/or Industrial Psychology related tertiary qualification
  • 7 years HR related experience
  • Driver's License
  • Experience in an Operations environment an advantage
  • Strong MS Office Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Labour Legislation
  • Sound understanding of Skills Development
  • Basic knowledge of payroll

Job Summary:

  • Understand our competitive landscape to recruit, develop and retain competent employees.
  • Ensure employees have the right skills, tools and environment to perform their jobs to the best of their ability.
  • Ensure the performance management process is implemented and adhered to, employees know what is expected of them, have both personal and organisational goals to work towards.
  • Monitor and evaluate organisational structure optimisation.
  • Provide coaching and education to employees and management regarding relevant HR related policies, procedures and compliance.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances.
  • Drive effective communication channels at all levels to ensure employees are informed.
  • Represent HR at the relevant and respective Management meetings and forums.
  • Ensure employees are compensated fairly in line with the remuneration principals.
  • Analyse information e.g. VIP/ SAGE reports and identify trends and patterns and translate into business intelligence.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting is done to team.
  • Develop initiatives that ensure employees are committed to the organization's climate, goals, objectives and values.
  • Build structured and sound relations with union shopstewards and officials
  • IMS member and ensure Information Management system reports are done and communicated in time
