GCI is a registered Financial Services Provider with its head office based in Auckland Gauteng. GCI is currently looking for a suitably qualified (CA) with experience as a Head of Services and Operations. The successful incumbent will be reporting to the Chief Operations Officer.


The main purpose of the Head of Services and Operations is to oversee the operational activities of a GCI and ensures that the operational and support services are fully functional and productive.

The duties include working with Service Managers on strategic planning, ensuring that employees are all aware of operational best practices and implementing innovative technology.

This includes the overseeing of all the departments are running well to avoid any problems related to production.

This includes the overseeing of the office operations and ensuring that the office operations are functioning, and the administrative team is working well.

It also includes the enforcing policies and ensuring new policies are drafted should the need arise

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To lead and motivate a team of c.50 cross functional professionals within the business to optimise operational, service and compliance capabilities.
  • Establish reporting structures and feedback sessions to allow for easy flow of communications.
  • Take ownership of service levels within the GCI group.
  • Manage operational and staffing budgets.
  • Analysing productivity data and optimising staffing and production capacity.
  • Enhancing provider relationships, service levels and effectiveness

Departmental leadership and ownership for:
Service delivery across Wealth, Health, Short Term, Employee Benefits and Mergers, including client service departments and Wealth Manager Executive Assistants, Legislative Compliance and Operational Compliance, Facilities Management, Technology, including PMO, Infrastructure, Cloud Applications, and system administration

  • Ensure that the operational and service infrastructure and communication systems of the business are fully operational and enhanced where appropriate.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the industry including challenges and opportunities in the sector
  • Work closely with other heads of departments to improve efficiency, as well as acting as an ultimate point of escalation for the sales and advice functions where necessary.
  • Design new processes to improve quality to increase productivity or profitability.
  • Oversight and management of departmental reporting requirements as they pertain to the smooth functioning of all business lines.
  • Formal member of the Strategic Committee.
We require the services of a
qualified Chartered Accountant with a BCom Hons degree and at least
five years in a senior or management position working with multi
- disciplinary teams and with leadership responsibilities. Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry will be advantageous. Part of the responsibilities are data analysis, analysing of figures, and producing reports.


If you are suitably
qualified (CA) and have at least 5 years' experience in a senior management position, managing diverse teams and have excellent IT and project management skills and knowledge of any industry-specific software or programmes, you are the person we are looking for.


Experience in auditing and monitoring outputs and data analysis, coupled with excellent interpersonal, time management, project management, communication, Leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate and retain staff will make you suitable for the position.
