Who are we?

Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture.

We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.

What will you do?

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the integration architecture blueprint, reference architecture & roadmap and its alignment with the Sanlam Group IT strategy.
  • Assist with the identification, design, development and implementation of reusable assets, components, templates, frameworks and processes to support and accelerate the implementation of integration requirements.
  • Work with the integration architect to provide continuous improvement and exploration of industry standards and technology advances in the integration space and assist with POC's and POV's to drive the positioning and adoption of new technologies and practices.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including architects, developers, systems analysts, business analysts and project managers, to ensure successful delivery of integration projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to forums, meetings and workshops related to integration architecture and concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements for all integration solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other members of the integration community.
  • Assist with providing input to business cases, benefits calculations & budgeting and assist with billing and cost recovery models.
  • Assist with risk management in the integration space with specific focus on current and emerging risks. Qualifications
Grade 12
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field would be strongly recommended.

Knowledge

Enterprise integration technologies, including API management, SOA, ETL, messaging technologies (e.g., JMS, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ), event streaming (e.g., Kafka) and integration patterns.

Integration platforms (e.g., Apache Camel, WSO2, Mulesoft, IBM App Connect, TIBCO) would be beneficial.
Understanding of web services, RESTful APIs, microservices and integration standards.
Understanding of data modelling and data integration concepts
Security, securing integration solutions, credential flows and security technologies such as AD, LDAP, OAuth, SAML and SCIM.
Good knowledge about DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
API design, development, implementation, security, and governance knowledge.
Sound understanding of the Java and Microsoft technologies and related design and implementation patterns.
Container and container platforms (such as Kubernetes) knowledge.
Good understanding of agile & iterative development methodologies

Experience
At least 1-3 years experience in designing and developing integration solutions in complex enterprise environments.

Experience with integration message formats such as XML and JSON and their associated schemas such as XSD, JSON Schema and Apache Avro.

Software design & development with Java and Microsoft technologies.
Database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server.
DevOps,CI/CD pipelines and technologies such as Maven, Gradle, Azure DevOps, Git and Bamboo.
Containers (e.g. Docker) and container platforms such as Kubernetes.
Agile methodologies and project management tools such as MS Project and Jira.
Life assurance or broader financial services industry is an advantage.
