Import Customer Service Assistant

Purpose
Provide high quality customer service support, delivering service in line with company performance standards and operating procedures.

Areas of responsibility:

1.
Import Documentation
Execute Import customer service documentation activities.

These include the preparation of Import cargo manifest / distribution of Arrival Notifications / processing Transhipment Orders, etc, in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and timelines.


2.
Customer Service Communication


Effectively communicate with the respective company internal / external business interfaces, such as the Line Management / System Developers / Company Global Offices and Customers, to ensure that all import processes are working efficiently.

This includes the distribution of customer sailing schedules and providing import quotations.

3.
Compilation of Import Statistics
Monitor and record import volumes, transhipment movements and vessel port calls.

4.
Vendor Account Reconciliation


Verification and reconciliation of Vendor billing (Port Operational Accounts), creating vessel expense summaries per port call, conducting checks and approval of invoices for the services rendered.


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Education Level
Matric with mathematics or equivalent.

Experiences
1-3 years professional working experience in the shipping industry, ideally with Pure Car & Truck Carrier exposure (PCTC).

Computer Skills
MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook).
-
Other Skills
Excellent English language and communication skills - both written & verbal. Analytical, Problem-Solving Skills, Ability to work under pressure. Quality Focus, Strong team player, Attention to detail, Time Management.
