    Role Purpose
  • The purpose of the

CEO:

Asset Management (Own capabilities), is to set the strategy for and oversee Asset Management (own capabilities) globally with a focus on growing AUM and increasing revenue margins in a sustainable manner.

This focus requires the integration and scaling of all related capabilities and products within Momentum Investments to deliver attractive value to all stakeholders, including shareholders, staff and clients.

In the context of the Momentum Investments Capability model, the following will be part of the Asset Management (Own Capabilities) business:

  • Crown Agents Investment Management (CAIM) (UK based)
  • Fixed Income
  • Listed property
  • Systematic Strategies
  • Momentum Securities

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification
  • CA(SA), Investment management, MBA or Actuarial qualification would be preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience within the Investment industry in leading specialist investment teams and capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Asset Management industry, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics both locally and globally.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influence decisionmaking, and drive consensus across diverse teams.

Duties & Responsibilities
**Strategic Leadership

  • Clearly articulate the vision and purpose of the business.
  • Design, refine and implement the strategy for the business globally.
  • Establish a high performing, cohesive management team to oversee the business.
  • Develop and design metrics to track execution of strategy and drive a highperformance culture.
  • Continuously consider industry trends, competitor actions, and regulatory alterations to recalibrate strategies as necessary, enhancing the business's competitive edge.
  • Ensure the effective direction in strategic and governance forums to ensure both,
- strategic evolution and good governance as a board member on various strategic forums.

  • Drive a digital strategy in partnership with the Head: Digital Transformation to sustainably set the business up for future success.
  • Develop a global growth strategy that will expand Momentum's asset management footprint beyond South Africa's borders.

Collaboration with key stakeholders and partners

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to encourage ongoing collaboration and trust.
  • Proactively identify, maintain and expand relationships with external stakeholders, including the sales channels.
  • Ensure vertical integration throughout the Momentum Investments as well as Momentum Metropolitan Holdings value chain, through establishing and maintaining strong internal relationships. Ensure vertical integration through influencing high levels of collaboration between the Asset Management and different parts of the business where dependencies exist.
  • Effectively manage key stakeholders in order to ensure sustainable
- partnerships in support of our business goals and interests.

**Drive performance

  • Ensure the assessment and monitoring of overall business performance is proactively engaged to identify potential performance risks and manage same proactively.
  • Proudly drive investment performance to be recognised as a key competitor in the industry both locally and internationally.

Drive distribution and ensure operational effectiveness

  • Work closely with various distribution teams to align strategies, enhance market reach, and improve distribution effectiveness, ultimately boosting the division's market visibility and revenue potential.
  • Provide authoritative expertise and guidance to clients, regulators, shareholders, and other stakeholders, ensuring exceptional client service, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct within the area of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement strategies that enable a positive client experience.

Brand positioning

  • Provide strategic oversight and implementation of the brand positioning to ensure strategic alignment to the business outcomes.
  • This role will play a thought leadership role to ensure that the Momentum Investments brand is recognized as a competitor in the Asset Management space.
