Sustainability and Workplace Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy).
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value.
  • Ensure alignment to group objectives by establishing and driving the longterm strategy for the division.
  • Realize division strategy by driving the realization and executing the divisional strategy and action plan.
  • Ensure the continuous alignment of divisional strategy by monitoring, controlling and aligning strategy realization.
  • Create a competitive and successful function through understanding competitor activity and acting to leverage opportunities.
  • Conduct longterm planning; budgeting; staffing and operations.
  • Ensure alignment to Group planning and definition requirements by establishing standardized frameworks.
  • Ensure risk compliance by establishing and manage appropriate risk practices.
  • Improve efficiency by providing management information, system improvements and standardized procedures.
  • Drive priority delivery based on strategic alignment and return on investment by configuring portfolio of services or projects.
  • Ensure functional alignment with Group strategy by providing management with corporate performance measures and competitor analysis Ensure strategic alignment and realization by translating divisional and group strategy into effective, clear and measurable action plans.
  • Realize sustainable strategic intent and provide insight into the organization by driving effective and efficient service or product delivery.
  • Provide guidance to top management with regards to potential areas of improvement.
  • Achieve quality and cost competitiveness which is made transparent to the client by providing structured services which are benchmarked to the industry.
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing the Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
  • Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
  • Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
  • Obtain buyin for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.
  • Drive priority delivery based on strategic alignment and return on investment by configuring portfolio of services or projects.

Minimum Experience Level

  • Minimum 5year experience in calculation operational carbon and environmental footprint
  • Extensive knowledge of Carbon Footprinting
  • GHG Protocol, IPCC, PCAF, CDP, DJSI, TCFD (see abbreviations above)
  • Good English ability will be crucial
  • The key attribute will be meticulous attention to detail and technical (scientific) accuracy and strong selfmanagement capability

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

  • Minimum 3year relevant Natural Science or Engineering degree.
