FINANCE Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • B Com degree preferably in the field of Economics or Accounting;
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial modelling and
forecasting;

  • Local government knowledge and experience will be beneficial;
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and MS
Office skills; and

  • Knowledge of SAP, SQL and Visual Basic would be advantageous.
Key Performance Areas

  • Creating, updating and maintaining of financial models and/or
databases;

  • Maintaining the integrity of data used in financial models and
databases;

  • Extracting, evaluating and assessing large data sets
  • Prepare, compile, analyse, interpret and present the City's Long
Term Financial Plan (LTFP);

  • Identifying, analysing and interpreting trends or patterns in data
sets;

  • Compile reports and presentations on findings;
  • Conduct research and investigations to ensure relevance of existing
models;

  • Financial analysis and preparation of prescribed reports;
  • Maintain and update relevant SAP structures;
government legislation (Municipal Finance Management Act),

regulations (e.g. Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts and

Municipal Budget & Reporting Requirements), principles and relevant

projects as applicable to the City's finance function;

  • Building solid business relationships across various levels of the
organization to facilitate the objectives of the department; and

  • Communicating with internal and external clients in a customer
centric manner in order to work on issues of common interest and/or

to share information.
