Role summary

The Content Coordinator will produce compelling content and curate campaigns for social media, email and digital platforms to promote online undergraduate and postgraduate programmes globally to prospective students and to support the study journey of students post enrolment.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy:

  • Content Strategy & Optimisation: Collaborate with stakeholders and utilise research and data, to identify content themes and styles that resonate with students. Develop strategies to attract new students and support existing ones.
  • SEO & Innovation: Analyse the search landscape and user trends to align content with SEO best practices. Write and optimise copy for search engines while generating innovative ideas to drive results.
  • Content Performance & Improvement: Analyse content performance using data from sources such as Google Analytics to understand impact and inform future approaches.
  • Competitor & Industry Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis and stay updated with industry trends to ensure your content remains relevant and competitive.
  • Benchmarking & Competitive Analysis: Compare content performance metrics against industry benchmarks and competitor data to identify areas where web, email and social performance excels and opportunities for improvement.

Content Management:

  • Content Creation: Create student-focused, engaging content (written and visual) for websites, email, and social media. Utilise a CMS to manage and update content efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Edit, proofread, and sign-off on high-quality content for all platforms.
  • Link Building & Traffic Growth: Develop and implement link-building strategies to increase website traffic.
  • Blog Management: Coordinate and update content for on-site blogs.
  • Content Repurposing: Repurpose and optimise existing digital content for better reach and traffic.

What does success look like?

  • A significant increase in organic website visits indicates successful SEO strategies.
  • Content ranks consistently high for targeted keywords.
  • Improved quality and relevance of content should lead to a decrease in bounce rates.
  • Content that is SEO-friendly, genuinely helpful, and accurate for students.
  • Success in generating various content types (blog posts, FAQs, webinars, etc.) that cater to different segments of the target audience.
  • Ensuring all strategies align with the latest search engine guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure all content complies with legal standards, including copyright laws and data protection regulations.
  • Uplift in conversion rates from prospective students to enrolment
  • Uplift in retention rates of current students

Key Performance Indicators

  • Organic Search Traffic: Uplift in the number of visitors who access the website organically through search engines.
  • Enrolment Funnel: Uplift in key enrolment metrics such as conversion from lead to application, application to offer and retention to commencement of study
  • Content Engagement: Uplift in user feedback, ratings, and reviews to ensure your content resonates with your target audience.
  • Social Media Reach: Uplift in social sharing metrics, including shares, likes, and retweets

Requirements

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in content marketing.
  • Experience in utilisation of Gen AI tools to assist with content generation
  • Understanding of CMS and website infrastructure.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign.
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management with both internal colleagues and clients
  • Highly analytical - always looking for more data, including performance metrics and behavioural and demographic data.

Any of the following in addition, would be advantageous

  • Experience in content marketing for the Higher Ed sector.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud
  • Certifications from reputable sources like Adobe, Google or SEMrush.
